The project highlighted here was for the rebuild and repair of a manual lathe used in the machine tool industry. The LeBlond Regal Manual Lathe 20x60 was taken apart and completely realigned. The compound, cross slide, and carriage were hand scraped by expert technicians and brought back to factory tolerances of ± 0.0005". The rails were removed, ground, and made parallel. Additionally, the head stock was rebuilt and the spindle bearings were replaced. The lathe was then finished with a cleaning and priming, then painted machine gray. Quality control was confirmed through functionality tests, all of which can be completed in just 6 to 8 weeks.
